Understanding Your Assets in the Kingdom (Part III)

“For if by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ” (Rom. 5:17)

Last time, we outlined two of our assets in the kingdom of God namely, assets of new life in Christ and his forgiveness. Today, we shall look at other various assets we have based on our relationship with Christ:

  • Your Asset of Good Health:

God’s desire for you is to live in good health always. Wholeness in all ramifications of life is the ultimate plan of God for you. When God created the first man, he made provisions for all their needs except for healing because they were not expected to be sick. Sickness came into existence as a byproduct of the fall. It was after the fall that humanity began to experience dis-ease, dis-comfort, dis-harmony, dis-integration and all forms of negative metabolic emotions. However, after the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus on the cross which took away our sickness and disease, we are ordained to live a sickness free life (Matthew 8:17). Now, here is God’s promise for you: “I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers” (3 John 2)

  • Your Asset of Continuous Divine Provision:

One of the things you enjoy as a child of God is the continuous supply of all your needs by God, though all your wants may not be met. Paul confirmed this for us: “And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:19). As you focus your life on the kingdom and align to its righteous demands, all your needs would automatically be met (Matt. 6:33). Remember that God promise to bless you and to keep you surrounded with favor as with a shield (Psalm 5:12).

  • Your Asset of Sound Mind:

While others may have a debased mind, God has promised you a sound mind; a mind that reasons correctly and accurately. New birth gives you access to the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16). Again, the bible says: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Tim. 1:7)

  • Your Asset of solid and continuous Safety:

We are living in an environment pervaded with a lot of risks. Our nation is not safe. A lot are living in panic not knowing what may happen next. But in the midst of this uncertainty, God promised to keep you in all your ways at all time. He guarantees that he will keep you from all evils. Your covenant heritage includes divine shield from the attacks of the enemy. “The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore” (Psalm 121:7, 8). Again, God says: “No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling” (Psalm 91:10).

  • Your Asset of Favour and Prosperity:

Favour is that divine input that makes a man to achieve things without stress. God promised to favour all the works of your hands.“You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favour her, yes, the set time, has come” (Psalm 102: 13). Again, David says: “The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing” (Psalm 93:12, 13)
