Understanding the Keys of the Kingdom
“These are the words of Him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open” (Rev. 3:7)
You can’t talk about key without talking about lock. The two operate together. Locks are mechanism you use to fasten or secure a door, window or lid while you engage the service of a key to turn the lock open. Each lock has its own right key. Most times a lock is custom-made to respond only to a particular key. When a wrong one is used it doesn’t work. So, keys are means of gaining access into a place that is locked up. Most times precious treasures are locked up from the public so that it will not be abused or mismanaged. The only person that could enjoy such treasure is the one that has the key. The implication of this is that accessibility into a locked place is a function of having the right key and correctly applying it. It doesn’t matter how strong and huge a door may appear it only requires having the right key and applying it correctly.
GOD’S KINGDOM OPERATES BY KEYS
The kingdom of God operates by principles which are likened to keys. You can’t gain access to anything in the kingdom except you apply the right principle. Every blessing in the kingdom of God is accessed through the application of the right key. The keys of the kingdom therefore are proven biblical principles believers employ to gain access to their divine asset. There are mysteries in the kingdom of which when a man is ignorant of his life becomes perpetually miserable. The greatest threat in the church today is ignorance and not the devil. The church has lost the quest for an in-depth search and presentation of biblical truth. The devil himself fears the truth. When the truth is discovered everything becomes possible. The fact is, there is the truth behind every matter in life. When such is not discovered one will remain in darkness. Hosea lamented long time ago that the people of God perish because they lack knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Knowledge is the comprehension and accumulation of truth. The truth is this, it is only those who know their God that will be strong and do exploits (Dan. 12:32). So, kingdom keys are means with which we gain access to our divine asset.
This truth is made clear when you look at the way Matthew 16:19 is rendered in the Message Translation: “And that’s not all. You will have complete and free access to God’s kingdom, keys to open any and every door: no more barriers between heaven and earth, earth and heaven. A yes on earth is yes in heaven. A no on earth is a no in heaven.”
This is to let you know that it is the desire of God for His children to have complete access to His kingdom.
