Accessing Your Assets in the Kingdom (Part II)
“Now I say, that the heir, as long as he is a child, differs nothing from a servant, though he is lord of all; but is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father” (Gal. 4:1-2)
We stated in part one of this discussion that you must know how to access what belong to you in the Kingdom of God. That you know what is written in the word concerning you does not equal having access to it. You must understand what you must do and doing it before you can enjoy what is yours in God’s kingdom. So, in part I, we shared two of such things we must do to lay hold on our inheritance in Christ, namely: using the name of Jesus and gaining revelation through the word. In this section, we shall be discussing three more.
- Access through spiritual Disciplines of Praise:
One of the quickest ways of accessing the throne of grace is through praise. Praise is a key in the kingdom to unlock God’s riches and graces on your life. When quality praises is offer to God either as an individual or as a congregation, the presence of God is guaranteed. The Psalmist counsels: “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise (Psalm 100:4). God inhabits the praise of His people (Psalm 22:3).
Again, when you maintain a lifestyle of praise, God’s riches blessings are guaranteed that will be so obvious for all the earth to see (Psalm 67). Finally, when God’s people offer quality praise to Him he fights their enemies on their behalf: “Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?” (Exd. 15:11)
- Access through Prayer and Fasting
Another key in your hand as a believer is prayer. Jesus said, “Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” (Matt. 7:7). Asking, seeking, and knocking are kingdom habits that you must learn if you will enjoy your divine assets. Let me share with you some few things you must know about asking in prayer. Asking implies recognition of God’s ownership of all things and a simple trust that He is willing to give you on request. Asking means placing a demand on that which is yours already in Christ Jesus. And where there is a demand a supply would be put to effect. Asking also means an acknowledgement that God can meet your needs.
- Access through a consistent lifestyle of Holiness
God is a holy God and those who will see Him must adopt the same lifestyle of holiness. This is the experience the Psalmist share in the following scriptures: “Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart,..Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob.” Psalm 24:3-6
- Access through Revelation Knowledge:
Apart from your normal eyesight (Naked eyes), you must develop and walk with both your foresight (Vision) and insight (Revelation). When you walk with revelation knowledge you see things from God’s perspective and this will in turn affect the way you speak (Eph. 1:16-18)
